Quote: Tom Robbins

"Perhaps a person gains by accumulating obstacles. The more obstacles set up to prevent happiness from appearing, the greater the shock when it does appear, just as the rebound of a spring will be all the more powerful the greater the pressure that has been exerted to compress it. Care must be taken, however, to select large obstacles, for only those of sufficient scope and scale have the capacity to lift us out of contest and force life to appear in an entirely new and unexpected light."

Thom Yorke

I can't believe I get to see Radiohead this month.

I want to hear: Idiotheque, There There, Where I End and You Begin, Nude, Reckoner, Talk Show Host, I Might Be Wrong... I could go on.

Mmm spinal articulation

Neko Case

I love it when she tosses her head back and howls.
One of my favorite musicians, hands-down.

Quote: Henry Miller

"Develop an interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself."

Introduction to Daruma-San

Created to serve as a living map locating sources of inspiration for me. Images, words, quotes, not too much writing or self-indulgent reflection that I save for my journal.

That said, Daruma-san = a Japanese doll with two blank eyes that are filled in at different times; the first eye is filled in at the beginning of a journey or a wish, the second filled in when the journey is finished or a wish fulfilled.

Gathering inspiration is like filling in the first eye with a wish to be taken to a new, interesting place.
